GIPChaSA marks WDD with praises
The Great Ife Physically Challenged Students Association (GIPChaSA) celebrated the 2023 World Disability Day at Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Tower of Glory Parish, Akarabata Ile-Ife, Osun State, Nigeria today!
During the service, one of GIPChaSA’s Staff Advisers, Prof Olabisi Ayodele, admonished on God’s Work. With John 9:1-3, he stressed that physical challenges are not curses or punishment for sins (personal or parental). He added that it is rewarding to associate with and assist persons with physical challenges. Drawing inspiration from Luke 14:13-14, he said any assistance rendered to persons with physical challenges is for God who repays richly. “When you give a feast, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, and the blind; and you will be blessed, because they are not able to pay you back. God will repay you on the day the good people rise from death.”
Ayodele counselled people to develop positive disposition toward persons with physical challenges. He said rather than compounding life for persons who physical challenges, people should obey traffic rules, not block walkways, and not discriminate against them. Special soul-lifting and soul-searching musical and poetical performances were made by members of GIPChaSA. The performances were ably led by Samuel Dabiri and Oni Ọmọ Onisenla Samson while Ayobami Oluwafemi Powerofdrums impressively extracted breathtaking rhythmic sound from the RCCG’s drumsets.
The Pastor in-charge of the Tower of Glory, Prof E. Akinlo, felicitated GIPChaSA on this remarkable day. While underscoring the need to show understanding of the plights of persons with physical challenges, he enjoined everyone that support in whatever way they could. “I know of persons with physical challenges who have impacts because they never succumbed to the limitations of their condition,” he said. Akinlo thanked GIPChaSA for choosing his Parish for this year’s celebration.
